The Laurie Walker: From the ICU to Riding Free—How Cycling Helped Us Reclaim Life

"In November 2021 my husband was admitted into the ICU with Covid. For days I was afraid he would never leave there. As he got stronger and after 7 days he came home on oxygen.
After 7 weeks the doctor allowed him to start walking and riding a bike to help his lungs get better. We started out looking at e-bikes and originally purchased Ecotrics bikes, we soon realized that they were not exactly what we wanted. As Brian got stronger and spring was approaching we switched to RAD bikes.... NOPE, still not what we wanted.Then came an ad for Mokwheel E-Bikes!
Finally, we found the bikes we were so desperately looking for. You see we are outdoor people who like to come and go on adventures, but not UTV or ATV kinda people. With my husband's asthma we can't go on dusty trails and we don't like the noise of them. We are more into quiet and spontaneous rides on trails. Our Mesa bikes have allowed us the freedom to ride trails, roads and even little paths. From trails in Island Park, Idaho, Grand Teton National Park, Harriman State Park to Yellowstone National Park. We have taken our bikes to Snow Canyon, Utah, ridden the Anasazi Trail to ride them around Kayenta. To the time we got pulled over by law enforcement on our bike in Missoula, MT so the officer could ask us about our bikes! He really wanted one.
Our favorite ride last year was the Ashton to Tetonia rail trail, it is 29 miles of amazing scenery. In the background of the Grand Tetons from the Idaho side. We can't wait for spring to come so we can get on that trail again.
This year will mark our 45th Wedding Anniversary and also my husband's retirement after 28 years as Director of 3B Juvenile Detention Center.Our bikes have allowed us the freedom to enjoy the beautiful area we call home. They also allow us to spend much-needed time together as a couple. This man of mine is my world. And I am so grateful that our ebikes helped him regain his health.
We recently had Instagear in St. Anthony, an authorized Mokwheel Dealer do our year service and replace our brakes. Great people!
I also became infatuated with the step through Basalt!"
The Millers: Finding a Shared Passion and Exploring the World Together
"It's hard to get a picture of both of us and the bike when it's usually just the two of us.
Since getting the Bikes, we have taken many trips together and spent more time than we have in a long time doing an outdoor activity we both equally love. We have ridden more than 300 miles on our bikes all over Michigan from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan to Lake Superior, and we have recruited two other couples to buy Mokwheel’s ebikes. I'm Thankful to Mokwheel because we have found a hobby we both enjoy; whether we are riding to a destination such as a lighthouse or to a cliff for a spectacular view or just to a local brewery to enjoy a drink, We love our Mokwheel ebikes.
PS I have many beautiful pictures of our bikes at these locations, just not with both of us in it and the bike at the same time. I also want to include a favorite picture of mine on a trail in northern Michigan with a deer in the background. Love that pic and my Beautiful pink bike."
Katie & Her Husband: From Love at First Sight to a Decade of Adventure Together
"I just wanted to share our love story.
My husband and I met 10 years ago and pretty much immediately fell in love. We lived an hour apart and after long distance dating, we finally moved in together and married 8 years ago this April. It truly has been the best years of my life, and I know he would say the same . We enjoy so many hobbies together, like horseback riding, dancing, skiing, and boating, which are mostly outdoor fun! Having the Mokwheel e-bikes is quickly becoming a new go-to choice because we can do it together and easily keep up with one another. We have 5 kids and 11 grandchildren and 3 dogs. We recently retired and are so excited to be beginning this journey and taking our Mokwheel e-bikes everywhere we go! We plan to travel the country and see as much as we can while riding our e-bikes and trailering our pups!! It’s going to be so much fun! This is a photo we took with our two Basalts while visiting Colorado. (We live in Indiana) .
Our first trip this year is next month—headed towards the sunshine state of Florida for 2 weeks, and yes, with these 2 Mokwheels and our 3 dogs!! We can’t wait to more fully enjoy the outdoors all together!! "
Matt & His Wife: 15 Years Together, Conquering Every Journey on Two Wheels
"My wife and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary riding the Trail of the Coeur D’alene’s in North Idaho. It was a beautiful 60-degree day, and we had always wanted to ride the trail around the lake. But before having the Mokwheel Mesa’s, we couldn’t make it all the way up the giant hill that awaits near the end. This time, we were passing by the bikers who looked to be training for Ironman competitions without breaking a sweat! We always get a lot of people asking about where we got the bikes and wanting to know more.
We are both looking forward to many more anniversary’s and adventures together, wherever the trails may lead us!"
